SOLD. As unreal as it sounds, this is absolutely an original 6.5x14 pink strata wood dynasonic. We are aware of only one other known example of a pink strata dyna and that drum is a 5x14. This drum is an ultra rare 6.5x14. The drum came to us along with a complete kit as well (9x13, 12x15, 16x18, 14x24). The drums were special ordered in 1968. The toms were ordered with  natural interiors. The last owner of this kit was the brother of the owner of the music store that ordered them for him in 68, and he has owned them ever since. The dyna has a natural interior and it is a 3 ply with rings. 5x14 wood dynas from this era are all 5 ply with rings, but as we have seen recently, 6.5s are often seen with 3 ply shells. The script logo on the drum had fallen off and we have left it off for now. The tacks which held the script logo were not bent over on the inside. In many cases the tacks are bent over, but sometimes they are not, as was the case here. The interior of the drum has the period correct star washers and hex slotted screws. The original owner decided that he wanted to apply an extra coat of clear lacquer to the inside of the dyna. He did not do a very good job, but this is on the inside of the drum and has no negative effect on the drum. Badge and grommet are original. Grommet has a bit of roughness on the interior edges, but it is original and there is no sign of any grommet tampering at the venthole at all. This is an extremely unique and rare drum.
