10/30/24: Craviotto Timeless Timber 5.5x14 Birch #100 of 100. Just in a private collection from a client of mine. This drum is the last one that was part of the Craviotto/Timeless Timeless Timber birch snare drums. That run was circa 2002. However, not all 100 were sold at that time, and Johnny held back some of the most figured birch shells. This drum has an Oct 2005 date stamp and is signed by Johnny in 2007, which is when he built the drum. He used the #100 of 100 nameplate for this drum. Birch generally has a very straight grain, however, the grain on this shell is beautifully figured, which is quite rare, and that is why Johnny held this shell back. Sonically, the 600 year old birch is superb. It has remarkable clarity due to the density of the wood, and sensitivity, projection, and overall "body" of the sound is fantastic. NEW SETS: We are the FIRST to order Ludwig's new Classic Maple Tri-band drum sets. We have two sets on order, both 8x12, 14x14, 14x20. Tri-band is a mix of finishes on one drum. This was often used in the 60s-70s for marching drums to match school colors, but was also available on sets via special order.
