Pre Badge WMP Dynasonic

DRUM IS SOLD. Ultra rare 5x14 WMP pre-badge 5x14 Rogers Dynasonic snare drum. We currently have one of these in our museum. There are currently only three know examples of pre-badge WMP dynas in existence: One is in our museum; one was sold not long ago but it had extra holes; and the other is the drum we are offering here. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the pre-badge dynas we can provide some history for you: The very first wood dynasonics were built circa 1960-61. These first drums did not have the familiar external oval badge that surrounds the venthole. Instead, these first drums had a paper tag on the inside with the word DYNASONIC typed on the tag. Of the 50,000 dynasonics built over the course of their history most were metal shell drums. It is estimated that perhaps as few as 3,000 wood dynas were built, and most of these do not exist today. Of the 3000 wood dynas, probably less than 200 were built during the short pre-badge period, and very few examples remain today in any color, much less the highly desirable WMP finish. The drum in our museum is New Old Stock, meaning the dealer who bought it from Rogers never sold it to the public. (For more information about pre-badge dynas visit the wood dynasonic gallery on our website). The drum being offered for sale here is in extremely clean condition, and is almost as nice as our NOS museum piece. The early Rogers drums had the crack-prone B&B lugs as shown on this drum. However, the lugs on this drum are in good shape and the drum can be played. Furthermore, we can now get you exact replicas of the old B&B lugs and these new lugs will not crack due to the manner in which they are manufactured. The good news is that this means you can actually play this drum if you like. We would recommend outfitting the drum with the replica lugs, then playing it as you normally would. Retain the original lugs in the event that you ever wish to sell the drum. This will allow you to have an excellent playing drum, and will also allow you to preserve the original B&B lugs. Original top and bottom Rogers heads. Even has the rubber band attachment on the snare frame and the rubber tips on the ends of the snare frame.
