Call us there at 212-730-8138. This set was Johnny's one-off for the 2008 Winter NAMM show and he pulled out all the stops on this one. All one-ply Craviotto cherry shells. This set is truly unreal: Sizes include 8x14 snare, 10x14 tom, 16x18 tom, 16x20 tom and 14x26!!! BD.  And, that's not all; the 16x18 and the 16x20 are floor toms that convert to bass drums. That's right, they convert to bass drums! Here are the details: The bottom hoop for each floor tom is a wood bass drum hoop complete with Ts and claws. The top hoop for each floor tom is metal. Johnny has mounted bass drum spurs near the top hoop on each floor tom. As a result, you can flip the tom over, attach a pedal to the wood hoop, open up the spurs, and you have an auxiliary bass drum. The set sounds so thunderous that it's too difficult to describe it accurately. The toms and bass drum speak volumes. If Bonham were alive today he'd be playing this set. And, the drums are just as well suited for big band use. Call for price. 

SOUND FILE DETAILS: The sound file was recorded in the studio of our Manhattan shop. We used a mic for the bass drum and two overheads for the rest of the set. The sound file is in two parts, witha slight space of silence between the two so be sure to hear it all. In the first half of the sound file the drums are wide open, no muffling.  In the second half a very small piece of moon gel was placed about 1 inch from the heads on tom toms only. We DO NOT play around with the natural sound with extensive EQ and effects. What you hear is exactly what these drums sound like. Jess Birch, my NY store manager did the recording and played the kit for the sample.
