As we announced earlier, Craviotto begins a new decade in 2024. To celebrate the new beginning we decided that the first drum built in 2024 would be a special one, and would be signed by the entire Nashville production team. This special drum is Carpathian Spruce with real WMP abalone inlay and has our new proprietary 2.8mm double flange rims. We're excited about this species for several reasons: Spruce is a superb tone wood and has been the mainstay for flat top and archtop guitars for decades. The resonance of Spruce is superb, and the tone is very clear and musical. And, Carpathian Spruce is particularly rare and desirable. So, we decided that if Spruce was great for guitars, then it would likely be superb for a Craviotto solid shell snare drum. So, we acquired some of the wood to test the theory, and it truly is superb! The drum pictured below is an example of the beauty of the grain as well as the white marine pearl abalone inlay. We'll have a few more of these very special drums for you, and I will be doing a sound file for the one shown below soon, so stay tuned!!!!
