Craviotto. NEW! Triple strainer snare drum

3/7/23: New from Craviotto! Our Triple Strainer snare drum. This drum was designed to provide a wide variety of snare drum sounds built into one great Craviotto solid shell snare drum. For those who aren't familiar with the triple strainer design, this is something that has been used for many years with orchestral players. By combining three different sets of snares into one drum, orchestral players can get a variety of sounds from one snare drum, rather than having to use a different drum for each piece of music. In an orchestral setting one set of snares might be coated cable, another might be "gut", and another might be uncoated cable or perhaps regular wire. Here at Craviotto, our intention was to expand this idea to the drumset. After all, we often want slightly different sounds/tones from the snare drum depending on the tunes we're playing. What better way than to have 3 sets of snares available to you to "mix and match" the sound.

Specs:

- Solid steam bent shell (maple or cherry). Choice of 5.5x14 or 6.5x14.

- Choice of bearing edges (45/45, 30/30, or Hybrid).

- Triple strainer with one set of 6 strand uncoated cable, one set of 6 strand coated cable, one set of 6 strand wire. There is a dedicated throw off for each set of wires. The combinations are fabulous: uncoated/coated/wire; uncoated alone; coated alone; wire alone; uncoated/coated; uncoated/wire; coated/uncoated; coated/wire. And, all three sets of snares can be tensioned individually which adds even more versatility.

- Rims: Triple flange chrome over steel are standard. Die cast available for an additional $150. Chrome over brass available for an additional $200.
